How the programme works:
Training and Assessment in the Workplace is perfect for managers, supervisors and those who are already involved in training. The qualification is also perfect for anyone who has completed Level 3 and wants to go on to the next level.
You can complete the qualification in one of two ways:
- Self directed - Training materials are given to you by an assessor and you work towards the assessments on your own.
- Facilitated training - This programme will run over 12 weeks. It will include two 2-day classroom sessions.
You will attend the first 2-day session at the beginning of the programme, and will gain the knowledge required to complete Unit Standards 7106 and 7108. You will then return to the workplace for 6 weeks, apply and practise the knowledge and gather the evidence you will need for assessment. The second 2-day session will focus on Unit Standards 4098 and 18203. You will return to the workplace and apply newly acquired skills and knowledge over 6 weeks.
- Session 1 (Training- Part 1): Covers the skills and knowledge a manager or supervisor needs when preparing, delivering and reviewing on-job training, as well as the essentials for preparing and providing guidance to adult learners.
- Session 2 (Assessment- Part 2): Covers the fundamental processes and elements needed when conducting workplace verification and assessment, including an understanding of the NZQA and its place within industry training.
