National Certificate in Distribution Level 2

The National Certificate in Distribution (Level 2) is the recognised entry-level certificate for the distribution industry. The qualification focuses on tasks common to employees in the distribution industry and provides a broad overview of the distribution environment

The material is broken into two parts.

Part 1 covers the following unit standards:

  • 414 Demonstrate knowledge of the distribution environment
  • 11985 Maintain safety in a distribution facility
  • 11971 Use safe work practices
  • 11972 Move goods manually and record stock movement
  • 62 Maintain personal presentation in the workplace
  • 1304 Communicate with people from other cultures
  • 418 Monitor stock in a distribution facility
  • 11975 Pick and assemble goods for dispatch

Part 2 covers the following unit standards:

  • 497 Demonstrate knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
  • 3503 Participate and communicate in a team or group to complete a routine task
  • 3501 Demonstrate knowledge of and apply listening techniques
  • 11958 Demonstrate knowledge of stock management procedures and systems
  • 19582 Receive inwards goods in a distribution facility
  • 12001 Receive returned goods in a distribution facility
  • 11966 Count and record stock
  • 11973 Demonstrate knowledge of loss prevention techniques
  • 11984 Maintain quality of individual goods
  • 3483 Fill in a form
  • 11979 Package goods in a distribution facility
  • 11963 Dispatch goods within an agreed timeframe

The National Certificate in Distribution (Level 2) is suitable for most employees in the distribution industry. Employees who are new to distribution will gain confidence, use their initiative and be more productive in the workplace. For supervisors, it is a good team experience to go through the qualification together and be able to provide guidance and support to trainees.
