DISTRIBUTION TRAINING
National Certificate in Distribution Level 3
This certificate is the supervisory qualification for the distribution industry.
It covers managing health and safety, working with hazardous substances and dangerous goods, communicating effectively, handling complaints, leading a team, receiving inwards goods, controlling inventory, preventing loss, picking, packing and dispatching, carrying out administration work, managing your workload.
The National Certificate in Distribution (Level 3) is suitable for distribution employees working in a supervisory or management position, and those who have completed the National Certificate in Distribution (Level 2) and want to move on to the next level.
The material is broken into three parts:
- Working Effectively
- Communicating Effectively
- Keeping Your Workplace Safe
Working Effectively covers the following unit standards:
- 19580 Demonstrate knowledge of storekeeping operations in a distribution facility
- 12349 Demonstrate time management
- 11960 Receive inwards products in a retail or distribution environment
- 11976 Access and provide information using a computerised inventory management system in a retail or distribution environment
- 418 Monitor stock in a distribution facility
- 334 Operate and administer inventory systems
- 11984 Maintain quality of individual products in a distribution facility
- 7123 Demonstrate knowledge of problem solving and apply a problem-solving technique to a problem
- 121 Use office administration and communication systems
- 4258 Describe ways of managing and coping with change
Communicating Effectively covers the following unit standards:
- 57 Provide customer service in given situations
- 11097 Listen to gain information in an interactive situation
- 1304 Communicate with people from other cultures
- 1312 Give oral instructions in the workplace
- 9705 Give and respond to feedback on performance
Keeping Your Workplace Safe covers the following unit standards:
- 415 Apply health and safety practices in a distribution facility
- 19580 Demonstrate knowledge of storekeeping operations in a distribution facility
- 121 Use office administration and communication systems
- 11961 Handle and store hazardous substances in a retail or distribution environment
- 11995 Protect personnel, plant, and property in a retail or distribution environment

Trainee Pack
