Skills and Qualifications
In order to complete the Modern Apprenticeship, the Modern Apprentice must complete 147 credits composed of set unit standards covering various retail skills and knowledge ,and foundation skills in literacy and self-development.
Learners achieve:
- National Certificate in Retail Level 2
- National Certificate in Retail Level 3
- Completion of Modern Apprenticeship Certificate

Who is suitable:
The Retail Modern Apprenticeship is open to promising staff from the ages of 16 – 21, and is a three year, NZQA accredited programme developing young people into supervisors and managers. By working through unit standards at NZQA level 2 and 3, a Retail Modern Apprentice gains a qualification and the skills and knowledge to build a career in retail.
