NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN RETAIL (LEVEL 4)
This qualification is designed for people who are working in supervisory or management roles in retail.
Training and Assessment in the Workplace, is the first module in the new National Certificate in Retail Level 4. It is designed to build instore capability by providing managers and supervisors with the skills they need to become trainers and assessors - in their workplace and beyond.
Who is suitable?
The programme is perfect for those who mentor and train staff as part of their role. It is also suitable for anyone who has completed the National Certificate in Retail Level 3 and wants to step up to the next skill level.
How it works
Participants can complete the programme on their own or through facilitated training, which includes workshops held in nine main centres. The programme is in two parts. There are two, 2-day workshops. A workshop is held at the beginning of each part, after which participants will return to their workplace to practise their newly acquired skills over the next 6 weeks.
Part 1 covers the skills and knowledge a manager or supervisor needs to:
- develop training plans
- provide training, guidance and feedback to staff
- review training and individual goals.
Part 2 covers the skills and knowledge a manager or supervisor needs to:
- understand how unit standards work
- verify evidence for an assessment
- carry out an assessment
- meet the assessment and moderation requirements of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).
